Mos Def & Talib Kweli still create great music together. They proved this again last night for the world to see on Jimmy Kimmel’s Live Concert Series. The duo performed Supreme Supreme, a track off of Talib’s upcoming album on which Mos is a guest. Talib sounds a little hoarse, but Mos is right on time and the track is hot.

If you missed the live performance, have no fear. The internet is here:

More Mos Def & Breed Love Odyssey crew photo love from mskyra.

The rumors of Mos focusing on his acting must be true, because he reminds us:

I wonder what the guys over at Hip Hop Blogs think of Mos wearing this shirt.

Once again, a post at the MosDefinitely forums leads me to more Mos Def media. This time, it’s a series of animated shorts called The Devil’s Music.

Screenshot of The Devil's Music

Mos is the voice of the film’s protagonist, a young playa named Shane McDaniel. The series of ten shorts (When we say short, we mean short. Each of them clock in at less than 3 minutes.), created and written by Cheo Hodari Coker, follow the character from through a rollercoaster of events and emotions—some real, some not so real. Here’s the official describes the story:

Shane McDaniel (Mos Def) wants to be a star, and he’d do anything to succeed in the hip hop world. As his star begins to rise, a brush with death makes him realize that the values of gangsta rap might not be ones he wants to promote after all. But when he tries to clean up his act, cosmic forces intervene, reminding Shane that his material is no longer up to him since he did business with the devil; now he must fight to regain his power over his own artistic expression.

The full series can be seen at urbanentertainment.com . You can also buy the DVD at Amazon or other online outlets.

mskyra from over at the MosDefinitely forums has posted some seriously raw photos of Mos Def and the rest of the Breed Love Crew (sans Talib Kweli, who was not at the show) from last night’s tour stop in San Francisco.

She promises more photos from tonight’s show in Santa Cruz, so keep it locked…

Mos Def is included in Essence Magazine’s Top 10 Sexiest Men list, the cover story to the November issue. (I’ll try to get a copy in the next few days and post more info…)

Mos joins no-brainers like Will Smith, Blair Underwood, and Denzel Washington. Some cat I’ve never heard of named Boris Kodjoe tops their list.
