The track mixes lyrics from the Mos Def song Mathematics, from his debut album, Black On Both Sides, with a light percussive rhythm from an unknown-to-me Phillip Glass song.

I think that backing track on “Music from Mathematics” is actually a track 11 on the 1988 Powaqqatsi soundtrack, a cut called “New Cities In Ancient Lands, Africa.”
I really enjoyed this Stokast mashup, but didn’t recognize the source of the backing until I rented the film recently.
