Mos Def raps, sings, screams, and just plain lets loose on his new single, "Dollar Day for New Orleans (Katrina Klap)," released in response to the government’s bungled response to Hurricane Katrina.
As Mos puts it, the song is for "the streets affected by the storm called…America."
The track is raw and haunting, and plainly points the finger at the Bush administration and President Bush himself.

I’ve been an avid fan of the rapper/actor Mos Def for many years. I love the silky smooth flow of his delivery, the intelligence of his lyrics, and the believability of the characters he plays in movies. I just can’t get enough Mos Def.
There used to be an unofficial news site at mosefinitely.com, but it seems that site no longer exists. The official label sites are to marketing-focused and don’t get you any of the news you want to know.
The time has come. This is the new site for everything Mos Def-related. MosDef.Funky4u.com.
I’ll be updating this with whatever news and info comes over the wires. If anyone hears or sees anything out there, let me know. If anyone spots Mos Def in the flesh and manages to snap a pic, send it on.
This site is brand new, so look for refinements, updates, and changes. But most of all, look for the most recent news on Mos Def.
Peace, y’all. Stay in touch.
